Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Actuarial Department as a Senior Manager/ Associate Director, Capital Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for capital management, RBC production, and supporting the broader actuarial functions within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage capital management initiatives, including capital optimisation, planning, and allocation.
  • Oversee RBC production processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise capital efficiency and solvency positions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on capital management frameworks, policies, and methodologies.
  • Support risk-based capital modelling and analysis to inform business decision-making.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to communicate capital-related matters.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, and actuarial teams to drive integrated capital management solutions.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on capital adequacy and risk frameworks.
  • Develop reports and presentations for senior management and board-level discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in capital monitoring, reporting, and forecasting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Fellowship qualification with a recognised actuarial body (e.g., FIA, FSA, FIAA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in actuarial, capital management, or financial reporting roles.
  • Strong technical expertise in capital management, regulatory capital frameworks, and RBC production.
  • Proficiency in risk-based capital modelling and analysis.
  • Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Solid understanding of local regulatory requirements and global capital adequacy standards.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial and actuarial data to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling tools and actuarial software.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing teams and projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in capital planning and optimisation in an insurance context.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 and its impact on capital and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with economic capital modelling methodologies.
  • Proven track record of engaging with regulators and external stakeholders on capital-related matters.
