Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Actuarial Department as a Senior Manager/ Associate Director, Capital Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for capital management, RBC production, and supporting the broader actuarial functions within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage capital management initiatives, including capital optimisation, planning, and allocation.
- Oversee RBC production processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise capital efficiency and solvency positions.
- Provide insights and recommendations on capital management frameworks, policies, and methodologies.
- Support risk-based capital modelling and analysis to inform business decision-making.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to communicate capital-related matters.
- Collaborate with finance, risk, and actuarial teams to drive integrated capital management solutions.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on capital adequacy and risk frameworks.
- Develop reports and presentations for senior management and board-level discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement in capital monitoring, reporting, and forecasting capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Fellowship qualification with a recognised actuarial body (e.g., FIA, FSA, FIAA) preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in actuarial, capital management, or financial reporting roles.
- Strong technical expertise in capital management, regulatory capital frameworks, and RBC production.
- Proficiency in risk-based capital modelling and analysis.
- Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Solid understanding of local regulatory requirements and global capital adequacy standards.
- Ability to interpret complex financial and actuarial data to provide strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling tools and actuarial software.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing teams and projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in capital planning and optimisation in an insurance context.
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 and its impact on capital and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with economic capital modelling methodologies.
- Proven track record of engaging with regulators and external stakeholders on capital-related matters.
