Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement underwriting governance frameworks and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
- Oversee the underwriting control process, ensuring consistency and accuracy in decision-making across the organization.
- Collaborate with senior management to define and execute underwriting strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of underwriting practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established policies.
- Monitor and analyze underwriting performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Provide training and support to underwriting teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including claims, actuarial, and legal teams, to ensure seamless operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to drive innovation in underwriting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a relevant advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting governance and control.
- Strong general insurance experience is essential; knowledge of reinsurance is a plus.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
