Overview
Our client is an international chemical process & solutions provider based in Hong Kong with offices in 10+ countries.
They are looking for a Procurement Manager with a strong understanding of the chemical industry to join their business in Hong Kong. The role requires managerial skills with the ability to do strategic sourcing and cost negotiation with suppliers.
Job duties
- Control procurement budget and develop innovative & cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships and sourcing activities.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Review and assess existing supplier contracts to ensure terms are feasible.
- Cultivate and sustain long-term vendor partnerships.
- Oversee procurement operations, including purchase approvals and logistics coordination.
Job requirements
- 10+ years of procurement experience in chemical manufacturing industry with 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of chemical industry and raw materials such as paper, pulp, crude oil, viscose fibre etc.
- Excellent vendor management skills with prior experience in handling suppliers in China.
- Previous experience with ESG initiatives is a plus.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- Open to travel regularly for sourcing and supplier meetings.
