We are a leading premium boutique insurer specializing in specialty products within the General Insurance industry. Our company is dedicated to providing exceptional risk solutions to clients, offering a range of products including Financial Lines, Fine Art & Species, Film & Events, and other specialty lines. As the Head of Operations and Claims, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the operational and claims processes within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Strategy and Management:
- Develop and implement the operational strategy to ensure efficient and effective processes across the organization.
- Establish operational goals, monitor performance indicators, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational objectives with the company's overall strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
- Claims Management:
- Lead and supervise the claims team, ensuring the efficient handling and settlement of claims in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of claims management procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
- Monitor claims performance metrics, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and finance teams to assess claims reserves, manage litigation, and negotiate settlements.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
- Regularly review existing operational workflows and procedures to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the operations and claims departments.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to operational and claims functions.
- Identify operational risks, implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging issues, and changes in regulations pertaining to specialty insurance products and claims management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field. A relevant professional certification or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in operations and claims management within the General Insurance industry, with a focus on specialty products.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Lines, Fine Art & Species, Film & Events, or other specialty insurance products.
- In-depth understanding of claims management processes, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the General Insurance industry.
