As a Responsible Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company's compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority (IA). You will be responsible for overseeing and managing regulatory compliance matters, implementing effective risk management practices, and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the IA. Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate relevant information to the management team. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

  2. Licensing and Registration: Serve as a qualified Responsible Officer under the IA's guidelines. Oversee all licensing and registration processes for the company and ensure timely renewal of licenses. Monitor and update key stakeholders on licensing requirements and any changes in the Responsible Officer regime.

  3. Risk Management: Develop and implement a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization. Conduct risk assessments, monitor risk exposures, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Establish controls and procedures to manage operational, financial, and reputational risks.

  4. Compliance Monitoring: Perform regular compliance monitoring activities to identify potential compliance gaps. Conduct internal reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of existing compliance controls. Provide recommendations for improvement and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.

  5. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regulatory reports, returns, and notifications to the IA as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, including policies, procedures, and compliance manuals. Ensure all documentation is organized, accessible, and in line with regulatory standards.

  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Represent the company in regulatory meetings, industry forums, and consultations. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a recognized degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business, or law.
  • Possess relevant professional qualifications and be a qualified Responsible Officer under the IA's guidelines.
  • Extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of Hong Kong insurance regulations, IA guidelines, and industry practices.
  • Proven track record in managing regulatory compliance and risk management functions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks, and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
